Healey
Automobile Consultants (HAC), owners of the prestigious British sports cars
brand "Healey", today announced that an agreement has been concluded
for the sale of its entire shareholding to HFI, an Anglo-American Consortium
of engineers and investors.
HAC was founded in 1955 by Donald and Geoffrey Healey and is now under the
directorship of Margot, Cecilia & Kate Healey, all of whom will maintain
an interest in the new Healey company HFI. Margot Healey said: "We are
delighted with this exciting new venture. We have been committed to protecting
the brand and are very pleased to have reached an agreement which will result
in the manufacture of a new Healey in the UK."
To assist in the development and sale of the company, HAC brought in Brian
Cameron (a former director within Rover Group and ex managing director of
British Motor Heritage), whose extensive experience in the classic car brand
sector and considerable motor industry knowledge have guided this process.
HFI will be making their own statement in due course, but we can
disclose that plans for production of a new Healey 3000 are at an advanced
stage, with running prototypes currently under test and that their manufacturing
base will be in the UK
"We look forward to seeing the great British sports car back
on our roads soon."
